About us

The Zouk Dresden Community

Our community is a vibrant mix of people of all ages, diverse backgrounds, and interests. What unites us all is our love for Brazilian Zouk.
Organization, DJs, and More:
To ensure we can dance regularly, have classes, and enjoy parties, it takes a few people who dedicate a bit more time. We’d like to introduce these individuals briefly.

I’ve been dancing partner dances since I was 15 and discovered Zouk in 2014. Since then, I’ve been enchanted by it and have almost exclusively focused on Zouk. What I enjoy most is learning, and since Zouk is so free, diverse, and virtually limitless, I can continue to learn throughout my life.

Anne

My primary goal is to promote empathy and self-care, and these are also my main focuses in teaching Zouk. Since I spent a year in Bolivia at 16, where I fell in love with Argentine Tango, only Zouk has captivated me even more with its rich variety. I am very grateful to be able to guide dancers and dance groups with particular mindfulness, drawing on my background in dance therapy and psychology.

My dance journey started with Salsa and Bachata. Since 2019, I have been learning Zouk from Jan & Saba in Berlin and immediately felt a strong connection to the dance. Since then, I have been learning every day and am excited by the versatility of Zouk. For me, dance is not just about partner dancing; it’s also a form of self-expression and a release in solo contexts.

Party planning

Most of us learn to dance in order to dance! That’s why regular parties, known as socials, are crucial for a vibrant scene. We aim to bring fresh energy to these parties with new workshops and rotating themes, creating the perfect environment for all of us to fully embrace our passion.

Class concept

We design the course concepts ourselves and continually update them with our growing experience. This makes the courses very dynamic and compatible with other concepts and communities.

Website

With our website we want to be a point of contact for all Dresden Zouk enthusiasts, but also for those who are hearing about it for the first time. The site will be continuously developed. If you have any ideas or feedback, please let us know!

Class concept

In addition to the basics of the figure repertoire, musicality, connection with each other, and creative dancing play a significant role. We also place great importance on reflecting the culture of our community and ensuring that new Zouk dancers feel comfortable with us.

Design & Partys

The new design for the Dresden Zouk scene is still in development. We aim to honor what has been here for a long time, truly understand the feeling of the scene, and create something with which as many of us as possible can identify.
