The ZFM Dresden

The Zouk Family Meeting is not only one of the oldest Zouk festivals in Germany, but also one of the coziest ones. Not a huge congress, approachable and great artists and social events make the ZFM so special.
This year we follow the special concepts of Jan & Saba and a very special Saturday party.

Our artists Saba & Jan will lead us through the ZFM, take us along outdoors and get us into party mood.

The workshops

Saba & Jan will be designing their concept for the weekend over the next few weeks. As soon as it's finalised, we'll keep you up to date here 🎉

Saba

Saba, born in London with Persian roots, comes from a musical family. She developed her feeling and connection to music and dance at a young age.
She started playing the piano at the age of 6 and dancing professionally (contemporary and jazz) at the age of 9. As an adult, she discovered and developed her passion for zouk. She has been teaching regularly in Berlin and giving international workshops since 2017.

Jan

Jan is an internationally performing dance artist and teacher. Dance has been an integral part of his life from a young age. Trained in Capoeira, Brazilian Afro, Modern and Contemporary dance, Eastern body-mind practices, systemic therapy and Brazilian Zouk.
Jan also organised the International Zouk Congress Berlin in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and is co-founder of Dança Alegria e.V. - Centre for Brazilian and Latin American Dances.

Our welcome dinner is the perfect time to get to know the other dancers in a relaxed situation, to laugh together and have a great start into the weekend.
We'll announce the location in the next few weeks.

Price: The welcome dinner is not included in the passes. Every person pays on her/his own.

For all early arrivals, we offer a city tour on Friday. Dresden is beautiful and well worth a tour. We are currently looking for the guides and will update you on the details.

We want to take advantage of the spring and incorporate the special atmosphere of Dresden. That's why some of the points will take place outside this year.

The workshop on Saturday will take place on the Brühl Terraces with a view of the Elbe.

We will then move to the other side of the Elbe and have a picnic and dance with the world-famous Dresden panorama.

If it rains, we will of course provide indoor alternatives 🙂

Our Saturday party will be very special this time. In keeping with the ZFM motto "Light and Dark", we will be immersing ourselves in a very special atmosphere. The dance floor will be illuminated by black light and we will shine in colourful lights.

With fluorescent colours and tattoos, you'll glow like the night sky or come in tribal patterns.

Our Brunch & Dance is the ideal way to start your Sunday after a Saturday night of dancing. We'll be meeting up again at Studio Elementio and will be served mainly vegan dishes prepared by Ilka and Ronny. We can especially look forward to the spreads, salads, cakes and casseroles - of course there will also be plenty of vegetable, cheese and sausage platters, as well as muesli, coffee, sparkling wine and various juices!
Parallel to brunching we'll warm up the dance floor for the day. With smooth sounds those who are full can slowly start their dancing day.

Our community member Ruslan then prepares us for the last party of the weekend. With his relaxation workshop, we can all wind down a little, give something back to our bodies and then dance full of energy into the last evening.
