The ZFM Dresden

The Zouk Family Meeting is not only one of the oldest Zouk festivals in Germany, but also one of the coziest ones. Not a huge congress, approachable and great artists and social events make the ZFM so special.
Plus this ZFM is being organized by a new team. It's definitely going to be a NEW ERA!

The workshops

Hellen & Marcos do full justice to the motto "New Era" at our weekend 🎉
Together with us, they discover how Lambada is making a new international entry into Brazilian Zouk. Zouk, as it has developed in recent years, is thus becoming richer once again. Lambada or Lambazouk brings with it something playful, life-affirming and at the same time powerful.
In the workshops we will learn why Zouk and Lambada are actually the same dance and only have different accents. There will be a Zouk-Lambada translation and we will learn, among other things, the same figures and movements once in Zouk and once in Lambada timing. In addition, we will learn the special dance feeling of Lambada and also typical shapes.

Hellen

Hellen is a passionate teacher of Brazilian Zouk & Lambada and a passionate ballroom dancer of various styles. With over 400 hours of teaching experience since 2018 in group classes, private lessons and workshops in Brazilian Zouk/Lambada, she has also taught at events and festivals in Belarus, Switzerland and at the Valentines Dance Festival in Berlin. Before moving to Berlin, she taught regularly at the Motsi Mabuse dance school in Frankfurt. Now she organises workshops and events in Berlin (Brazilian Zouk Lambada United, and others). Her main influences and references are the school of Renata Pecanha (where she studied), Ryel & Jessica, Movimento Lambazouk Sao Paulo, and MAC. Having travelled and studied in many Brazilian Zouk/Lambada communities around the world, she loves to compare styles, methods and teaching approaches.

Marcos

Marcos de Lima comes from Brazil, has lived in Poland for 14 years and has a Master's degree in dance with a specialisation in ballet pedagogy. He completed his training at the famous Bolshoi Theatre Ballet School in Moscow and has been working as a professional dancer and teacher for 14 years. He works as a ballet teacher for his company and has been teaching Brazilian dances such as Samba, Lambada and Brazilian Zouk in Poland for over 14 years. Marcos has started his own company and has also been working for several years to create and integrate ballroom dance communities in Poland by leading and organising classes and workshops and performing at the biggest Latin American ballroom dance events in Poland.

Our welcome dinner is the perfect time to get to know the other dancers in a relaxed situation, to laugh together and have a great start into the weekend.
We'll be at Ball- and Brauhaus Watzke, next to our venue, have good food, vegetarian options oc and enough space to chill together.

HELLERAU, das europäische Zentrum der Künste hat eine lange Tradition für modernen Tanz, Aufbruch und Neues. Es zählt zu den wichtigsten internationalen Zentren der zeitgenössischen Künste in Deutschland und Europa. Für uns geplant sind eine exklusive Führung zur tänzerischen Geschichte HELLERAUs, zur Bedeutung für den Tanz und die heutige Wirkung. Außerdem ein Workshop zu zeitgenössischem Tanz von einer erfahrenden Tänzerin der Staatsoperette. Wir dürfen gespannt sein!

Unser Brunch & Dance ist der ideale Einstieg in den Sonntag nach einer durchtanzten Samstagnacht. Wir treffen uns wieder im Studio Elementio und werden von Marron, Ilka und Ronny selbstgemachte hauptsächlich vegane Speisen vorfinden. Dabei können wir uns vor allem auf die Aufstriche, Salate, Kuchen und Aufläufe freuen – es fehlt natürlich auch nicht an Gemüse-, Käse- und Wurstplatten, sowie Müsli, Kaffee, Sekt und verschiedene Säfte! Auch zu diesem Anlass wird das Thema “New Era: Probier mal was Neues!” in verschiedenen kreativen Rezepten umgesetzt.
Parallel to brunching we'll warm up the dance floor for the day. With smooth sounds those who are full can slowly start their dancing day.

After the Brunch & Dance Sarah will take us along on a little journey through our bodies and perceptions. She'll get us and our body to relax and loosen up. After two days full of dance that might just be what we need. Sarah is Yoga teacher, physician and a passionate dancer herself.
